Mrs. Clapp received her BS in Biology from SUNY@Albany - where she became co-author in ideal free distribution model experiments with Jeffrey A. Tyler and James F. Gilliam. She earned her Masters of Arts in Science Education from Brown University. She has been teaching at HWRHS since 2000 (with a short stint at Newburyport High School and maternity leave to raise her twin girls). She is thrilled to be back teaching as a General after this hiatus: teaching her favorite subjects: Anatomy and Physiology and Forensics (which is her curriculum design). Mrs. Clapp has also created a Speaker Series for both A&P and Forensic - bringing in experts from the field to present to her students. From K9 police officers to ER doctors, District Attorneys to Assistant Pathologist, these visits give her curriculum purpose beyond the book. She co-owns the 1634 Meadery in Ipswich with her husband . She is often highly caffeinated and slightly humorous. She enjoys XC skiing, reading, boating in Ipswich Bay, hiking and spending time with her family (forced family fun time!!). She can often be seen around town with her favorite K9 pal, Doolin.
